Sparkles By Julie's Water Lily

Out of all the polishes I've got in the mail the last two days, first one I've been dying to try was Water Lily.

So I have two coats of Water Lily on and covered with a top coat.    Water Lily has great coverage and I can't stop looking at it!  Soooo striking:)

More Indie Polish *happy sigh*

Today was an indie polish blitz!

I received my order from Pahlish.  The polishes are as pretty in real time as they are in pictures!

Next, I have my Sparkles by Julie order.    Again, extra pretty polishes!  Water Lily is so unique looking too!

Last, I received my order from Tina and Lucy.   Sulfur and Disco are very unique looking.  I am not sure what's going on with these polishes because the glitter settles very fast.  It seems to be better once I give 'em a shake but the glitter settles very quick again. Perhaps the base isn't suspension?  IDK.  I'm willing to give them a try for a different look!

I highly recommend mini polish bottles to keep you from breaking your wallets.  Many indie makers I've encountered are more than happy to do custom orders for minis even if they don't list them for sale.

Yay for nail mail!

Lacquer Convention Minis are IN!

I had a sweet surprise when I found my Lacquer Convention order in the mail this morning.

Last week I ordered Don't Over Blue It, Galinda, Pop Tart, and Snap,Crackle, Pop in the minis.   I am a big fan of minis because they still last a while and the ones that you love you can always go back and buy the full size.

I can't wait to get these pretties on my nails!

Week 24 of the Year of Polish Challenge: Pirate Flag Nails

So this week's challenge was one that I was not very excited about UNTIL I thought about my favorite flag the "Jolly Roger."  Who doesn't love pirates?

These nails were very easy and fast to do.  They were totally free-handed and I used a Google image of a pirate ship as an example to follow on my pinkie nail.  I think our community needs to have a nail polish flag.  Whatever flag you fly, fly it proudly!

On Equal Ground Nails

Still loving my Pretty & Polished minis.  This time I am showcasing "On Equal Ground" over Color Club's Laven-Darling from their Blossoming collection.

On Equal Ground is chalk full of multi glitters.  Its very striking and sparkly.  Highly recommend this one as one of your must-have indie glitters.

Turquoise Sand Art Nails

Just had to try out Pretty and Polished's Sand Art with Color Club's Age of Aquarius.

I adore this look and my toes will soon sport this for some summer sandal looks!  If you buy Sand Art, spring for the full size.   I already wish I had!

Pretty and Polished Indie Mail!!

There have been so many indie sales dropping down lately and I have had such a lack of will power.  Today, I received some Pretty and Polished minis in the mail and its the first of several blog posts showing off new indie polishes!

I have say that On Equal Ground is far more awesome in person.  Bayou Blitz , Freedom Calling, Sand Art are everything I expected.  Love 'em all!

Mystery Mani #1

So, this is the first of some occasional mystery manicures I will post where I give you clues and you guess unnamed elements.  More than one of you have helped me determine a nameless polish so I know that we have a lot of combined polish knowledge.

This manicure was a beautiful accident.  As I've said time and again, sometimes I don't know when to quit and the result can go either way.  For this I "finished" my manicure and then thought, what if I add this on top of that?    I would say that this manicure looks like everything I love about Deborah Lippmann's Electric Indigo only on glitter crack and ten times better.  I really love the blue ring around each nail and I can't wait to see these nails sparkle in tomorrow's sunlight!

So bring on the guessing--I am betting that someone will get the answers pretty fast!

Clue #1:  The base color is Blue By You by Sinful Colors
Clue #2:  There are two different glitter effects at work
Clue #3:  The two glitter topcoats are by the same nail polish brand

Hit me with your guesses!  There may be a TBD prize involved for the first person guessing the two glitters used :)  Please comment on this post to participate.  You must guess both elements in the same comment to win, you must be a public GFC follower, and winning is limited to US and Canada participants.

In a Kooky mood so I did some hilariously cute BLT Nails!

I was driving in the car the other day and had this instant craving for a B-L-T.   It wasn't a practical craving because I was in my car/on my way to work/etc but then I thought...how funny would it be to do some BLT Nails?  So I did them and these nails make me laugh sooo much!  As for how I did them, I searched "bacon graphics," "lettuce graphics," "tomato graphics," and "bread graphics" in Google images for some cartoon style images.  Everything was free-handed but ask if you have any questions!

Pride Month = Pride Nails, A Year of Polish Challenge

I did these nails specifically for Kyoti's Nails June LGBT Pride Nail Art Contest.  I have several very dear friends that are LGBT so this cause is dear to my heart!

I painted my base coated nails with the standard ROYGB rainbow hues.  My inspiration for these nails beyond the contest and my love of my gay peoples is a mixture of some posters and a t-shirt I've seen:)  The message, though, is clear...Love is Love, pure and simple.  I look forward to a day where my friends have the same rights their fellow Americans do and I am confident that it will happen in my lifetime!
