Dandelion Nails

A friend and I are going to Sipping N Painting tomorrow night and we will be learning to paint the following painting while having a drink or two (non alcoholic btw, since we both will be driving home):

Since I also learned today that my current favorite polish, Julep's Helena, was voted their 2011 color of the year, I decided to get a head start on painting dandelions and used Helena as my star color.

After prepping my nails with Julep's Nail Therapy, I painted my nails with two coats of Helena.  I then sponged on a fuzzy backdrop in Whirlwind White with a cosmetic sponge.  Next I used Trina to draw in the lines of the dandelions.  I outlined the centers of the dandelions in Whirlwind White and used a dotting tool in Whirlwind White to put random white dots throughout the lines.  I then used the dotting tool and placed larger dots of Skull & Glossbones and Let's Talk around each set of lines.  Last, I made a circular pattern throughout the dots with iridescent glitter.

Ok, so I have a problem.  Hi, this is Nails, Actually and I'm addicted to glitter. *sigh*

Even so these nails turned out cute enough for me:)  On to the Sipping N Painting!

UPDATE:  Megan and I had a blast painting our dandelions!
